The Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade is more than just a road project.

As a major gateway to the city for tourists, visitors and residents, Kingsford Smith Drive will be transformed into a vibrant urban corridor that maximises public access to the river and reinforces Brisbane’s identity as a new world city.

Right turn into Amy Street to be removed.

Traffic signals to remain at Cooksley Street.

Cameron Rocks Reserve will be redeveloped to create a new lawn focused on the existing war memorial.

New on-street parking on Yulestar Street.

Hunt Street to be left-in only.

New river walk structure will provide a riverside promenade and dedicated cycle path.

Pedestrian crossing to remain at Crescent Road.

Rest stop areas will be located along the river walk with viewing platforms that capture views towards the CBD.

Pedestrian crossing to be removed at Riverview Terrace.

Public pontoon.

The project will create a new vibrant urban plaza and parkland at Bretts Wharf.

Bretts Wharf ferry terminal.

Harbour Road to be left in, left out and right in only.

Future signalised intersection (part of Hamilton Northshore).

The upgrade will include improvement works at the Nudgee Road and Kingsford Smith Drive intersection.

Curtin Avenue West to be closed at Remora Road.

College Street to be left-in and left-out only.
